Hotel Accommodations

The special PAG conference room rate is $168 per night (plus tax) for single occupancy / $178 (plus tax) for double occupancy. Please be aware that the hotel typically fills up early, and you are advised to make reservations by December 1, 2012.

The Town and Country Hotel has provided a Hotel Reservations - PAG Booking Portal for PAG XXI. If you prefer to contact the hotel via phone to make your reservation, please call 800-772-8527 or 619-291-7131. Be sure to indicate you are calling about the Plant and Animal Genome Conference to secure the discounted convention rate. All hotel deposits and payments must be sent directly to the Town and Country Hotel.

WARNING: If you are contacted by a company called “National Travel Association” regarding rooms at the Town & Country Hotel - DO NOT - book your reservation with them. They are not affiliated with the PAG XXI meeting and you are advised to book directly with the Town & Country Hotel using the reservation portal linked above.

Internet Access
High speed internet access will be available in all rooms for PAG attendees and exhibitors at no charge. There will also be access to the internet in the PAG Computer Room, and complimentary wi-fi access in the conference/registration area.

Room Sharing
At past meetings, a number of attendees have expressed a desire to share a room to minimize hotel costs. Thanks to the efforts at Iowa State, a website has been set up to facilitate this. Please visit the PAG Room Sharing Website for assistance matching you with another guest.

Airport and Transportation

The Town and Country Hotel is located aproximately 15 minutes from San Diego International Airport (SAN).

Transportation to the hotel is easy, fast and inexpensive. The Cloud 9 SuperShuttle is a van-sharing airport shuttle service, and we have secured a special rate of $11.00 USD each way for all PAG attendees (you must use the link above). Reservations are reccommended.Taxis from the airport are also available and you can expect to pay about $20-25 USD plus tip.

Special Needs

Special Diets
Those who have special dietary needs (e.g., vegetarian, kosher, etc.) should note this on their registration forms. All efforts will be made to accommodate special requests. The Wednesday evening dinner banquet is a buffet and there will be a wide variety of food available.

Handicap Access
Pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, PAG will provide you with any required specific aids or services for the conference. Please contact Darrin Scherago (201-653-4777) with such requests.

Parking Discount

All attendees and exhibitors receive 50% off the current parking rate at the Town & Country Hotel. PAG XXI guests will receive an $8.00 per day rate when they present their name badge at the parking gate upon their departure.

Overflow Accommodations

The official overflow hotel for PAGXXI will be the Courtyard Marriott - San Diego/Mission Valley. Please contact them if rooms are no longer available at The Town & Country Hotel.
