Plant and Animal Genome Conference (PAG) COVID-19 Policies and Procedures

We are committed to providing and maintaining a safe, healthy environment for our attendees, exhibitors, conference and hotel management and staff, and for all individuals who are onsite at the Plant and Animal Conference (PAG). Your safety and well-being are our top priorities. We are closely monitoring communications from the CDC and the California Department of Public Health and taking appropriate safeguards to address recommendations by these agencies.

PAG XXIX will require ALL those in attendance to be fully vaccinated. Proof of full vaccination along with a negative PCR COVID-19 test will be necessary in order to be issued a wristband, which will be required to enter the Conference Center. If it is not possible to arrange a test in advance, complimentary testing will be offered on-site, free to all attendees. A reservation for testing will be required  and we cannot estimate the wait times.  It is recommended to make arrangements for testing prior to traveling. Masks will also be required indoors.

No one will be allowed enter the faculty without a wrist band. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS. Please see below for more details regarding the procedures.

 

We do not advise individuals who fall within any of the categories below to attend, and require everyone in attendance to be fully vaccinated.

By attending the PAG, you certify that you do not fall into any of the following groups

  1. Individuals who currently or within the past ten (10) days have experienced any symptoms associated with COVID-19, which include but is not limited to; fever, coughing or shortness/difficulty in breathing, loss of taste/smell, fatigue, and headaches, among others.

  2. Individuals who believe that they may have been exposed to a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 within the past ten (10) days.

  3. Individuals who have tested positive for and/or been diagnosed with COVID-19 or any of its variant strains and are not yet cleared as non-contagious by public health authorities or the health care team responsible for their treatment.

  4. Individuals who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19.


Requirements for Entry to the Conference Center

To reduce the risk of exposure and spread to COVID-19, we ask the following:

  • If you have been vaccinated, you will be required to provide proof of full vaccination and a recent negative COVID-19 test. Masks will be required to be worn indoors.

  • If you have not been fully vaccinated, you will be not be allowed to enter the conference

  • If you do not feel well on any day of the conference, contact us immediately. We can provide a credit for the 2023 PAG meeting or offer a full refund.

 

Procedure for Entering the Conference Center

All individuals will be required to provide proof of full vaccination, along with an appropriate ID matching the name on the documentation. The documentation must be directly from the healthcare provider that performed the vaccination. Fully vaccinated individuals must be at least 14 days after their second dose of the Pfizer-BioNtech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine or at least 14 days after their single dose of Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine.

We will accept proof of FULL vaccination of an FDA-authorized vaccine or a vaccine authorized for emergency use by the World Health Organization: https://covid19.trackvaccines.org/agency/who/

All individuals will also be required to provide proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 issued within 3 days. It is recommended to get tested prior to  arrival at the Conference Center. If it is not possible to arrange a test in advance, complimentary testing will be offered on-site. Reservation for testing will be required, and we cannot estimate the wait times. (It is highly recommended procure your test prior to arrival at the Conference Center. )

A web browser based system will be utilized for uploading all documents and verification.

Upon verification of BOTH proof of full vaccination and a negative PCR test, a wristband will be issued. This wristband is necessary to enter  and must worn at all times while in the Conference Center.

We will also require that a mask is to be worn indoors, and at times when maintaining a safe social distance is not possible. (It will not be required outdoors, and while eating and drinking.)

Children under the age of 12 will not be permitted within the Conference Center.

Everyone entering the Conference Center must display a wristband. PAG reserves the right to deny entry to or remove anyone within the Conference Center who refuses to follow procedures, or is presenting with COVID-19 related symptoms.


The Plant and Animal Conference (PAG) and the Town and Country Hotel and Conference Center have put in place various preventative measures to address concerns relative to the spread of COVID-19. Nevertheless, we cannot guarantee that those in attendance will not become infected with SARS-CoV-2 the virus that causes COVID-19, or any of it variant strains.
